The list of dangerous for attendance sites of UNESCO is published
Among the most famous sites appeared in the list there are Saint Catherine’s Monastery of IV century at the foot of Mount Sinai, ruins of ancient cities Baalbek in Lebanon and Leptis-Magna in Libya, as well as Syrian Aleppo and Damask. Besides that, the list includes Timbuktu in Mali, ruins of Carthage in Tunis, the capital of Yemen Sana’s, and Turkish city Diyarbakir.
The list includes one object situated in Russia such as the old part of Derbent recognized by UNESCO as the cultural heritage in 2003.
The experts included in the list a range of objects in the Central African Republic, Chad, Columbia, Egypt, Georgia, Iran, Kenya, the Philippines, Ukraine, and other countries.
The main purpose of the list of World Heritage is to protect the sites which are unique. As of 2015, there are 1031 denominations in the list of world heritage.
