Exhibition curator is Juan A. Gaitán.
At the beginning of this year one of the pavilions opened to present a preliminary statement of the 8th Berlin Biennale – installation Crash Pad by Norwegian of Greek origin Andreas Angelidakis. The young artist recreated space of Greek literary parlour of the XIX century decorated with antique decor, Doric columns and ancient rugs with patterns of various cultures and eras.
As the artist says, his work represents a rethinking in the contemporary world events with the projection on historical facts. Crash Pad is reminiscent of economic default in modern Greece in 1893, when the political system could not cope with the global economy and led to a series of failed governments in Greece.
