From the former Nazi concentration camp in Dachau the steely door with writing “Labour makes free” has been stolen.

As police informed, probably, it has been stolen at night. The law enforcement officers was searching “hard on the heels”, but have not received results yet. According to the preliminary version of examinations, neo-Nazi or strange collectors may stay behind the robbery.

“Criminals used the opportunity connected with the fact that grief memorial is not equipped with the watching camera – there guards keep the watch around-the-clock. Attackers availed of their changeover”, - as it is stated in the message.

In opinion of the head of memorial Gabrielle Gammerman, the incident is the desecration. The director of foundation “Bavarian memorial” Karl Freller condemned it, calling the robbery as dishonorable act.

Dachau, situated not far from Munich, is one of the first concentration camp within the territory of Germany. It opened in 1933, in a few weeks after Adolf Hitler’s rise to power.

Initially there political prisoners stayed behind the bars, however, in a timeperiod of the Second world was it transformed into the death camp.

There more than 40 thousand of the Jewish and Gipsies had been killed.

The same sign ("Arbeit macht Frei" as originated) had been hijacked in 2009. Soon it was found divided into three parts.
