Picasso’s granddaughter sells off his $290 million collection

The granddaughter of Pablo Picasso has decided to sell off the works of her grandfather on the amount of more than $290 million from its private collection, as it is reported by the web-portal ARTGIDE.

She also sells the famous detached house of Picasso in Cannes La Californie.

The number of works displayed for sale includes seven pictures, in particular the portrait of the first Picasso’s wife Olga created in 1923 and estimated at $60 million, painting «Maternity» (1921) with evaluation of $54 million, the work of 1911 named «Woman with mandolin (Seated Mademoiselle Leonie)» ($60 million).

All the works offered for sale were created between 1905 and 1965 years. Marina is going to sell the paintings after private communication with customers.

Among the reasons encouraged Marina to leave the inheritance of grandfather with whom she had strange relationships, her friend called the desire to «forget the past» and part with the estate «remained without love».
