It is the first time when a woman became the president of Estonia

Kersti Kaljulaid became the first woman in the history of Estonia who took the position of the national head.
In the first tour of vote at the elections Kaljulaid received 81 voices. In total, 98 deputies took part in the polling. A candidate needs to get a support from more than two third deputies to win.
After the election Kaljulaid has claimed that she is not going to move to presidential castle but remain live in her house in Tallinn, Interfax messages.
On the 24-th of September in Estonia the second tour of polling happened. However, in the result nobody from the candidates was able to get enough number of voices.
The acting president of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves retired from responsibilities this year October. He had been heading the state since 2006.
