PinkPop Festival
The first part of the festival name word pink - is an abbreviation of the Dutch noun Pinksteren, which means the Pentecost during which the festival takes place. And the second part the word pop derives from well-known English notion pop music (or popular music).
But a later creative interpretation for the name as a combination of the English word pink and the Dutch word pop which means a doll, originated a logo – a doll in a pink dress.
