Donald Duck was adopted in the U.S. Screen Actors Guild
Funny character was born in 1934, his debut role was in the short film The Wise Little Hen.
Duckling remained almost unchanged since his first appearance: the same suit, the same hat. In the 40s Donald Duck’s popularity prevailed even over Mickey Mouse’s! Disney studio created 128 cartoons with Donald Duck starring. Also he performed a supplementary part in hundreds of films about the adventures and Mickey Mouse, Goofy and other cartoon characters.
Donald has a twin sister Della Thelma Duck and four nephews. His mother is Hortense Duck, a Scrooge McDuck's sister, his father is Quackmore Duck.
Until 1985 he was voiced by Clarence Nash, and Donald’s voice is definitely one of the most recognizable.
The rights to Donald Duck often became an occasion for litigation. The greatest response received a case with Charlie Christensen – the author of comics about Arne the Duck. Walt Disney sued him saying that his character is too similar to Donald. Swedish cartoonist did not lose his heart and after some plastic surgery his brainchild resembled a crow with a long beak.
In August 2004 Donald Duck was given his personal star on the Stars Boulevard in Los Angeles.
