In Tintagel Castle in Cornwall which is considered as the birth place of King Arthur the suspension bridge will be built. As The Guardian reports, it will ease the travelling way to the ancient castle located at the rugged cliff.
Belgian company Ney&Partners has won the building competition. According to its project, the bridge will consist of two parts with a small gap between them. As the authors of idea say, two parts of construction ‘embody the passage between continent and island, present and past, reality and legend’.
The building of the bridge is estimated at four million pounds (5.6 million dollars). It is planned that it will be built in spring of 2019.
Currently one may reach the castle only over the wooden bridge and steep staircase. Annually more than 200 thousand people visit it.
