Every year on the 29-th of April Japan celebrates the state holiday - Day of the Sueva. It is celebrated on the birthday of Emperor Hirohito in memory of the period of his reign.
Entering the throne, the emperor of Japan accepts the so-called throne name (the motto of the government), which means some kind of good principle. Emperor Hirohito, after assuming the throne in 1926, received the throne name of Syowa, meaning "Enlightened World".
The year of the monarch's accession to the throne is in Japan the first year of a new era. The name of the era coincides with the name of the motto of the government. Therefore, the birthday of Hirohito (Day of the Sueva) is celebrated not so much in memory of the emperor himself, as in memory of his reign.
During the life of Hirohito on the 29-th of April, the Emperor's Birthday was celebrated in Japan, and from 1989 to 2006 - Greenery Day. In 2007, Greenery Day was postponed to another date, and on April 29 began to celebrate a new national holiday in honor of the Emperor Hirohito and the Seva Period.
Sueva's day in Japan is the beginning of the so-called "Golden Week", a series of festive days combined with holidays. In addition to the Day of Sow, it includes the Constitution Day, Green Day (the Day of the founding of the state) and the Children's Festival.
