Danish parliament passed a law according to which adult citizens can ask to change their sex in documents, even if they did not change it with the help of surgery.
Officials from the Department of State registration required within a week after the will of the citizen to give him new documents, in which instead of "man" would be written "woman" or vice versa.
59 Danish MPs voted for the adoption of such a law and 52 voted against it.
In a press release published on the website of the Parliament of Denmark, noted that the new law will allow "legal sex change" regardless of whether the citizen held surgical sex-change operation, or whether it was hormonal.
This change in the law comes into force in Denmark next month.
