It is the sports competition held every four years under the auspices of the Olympic Council of Asia and under the supervision of the International Olympic Committee. We continue our special section dedicated to 2017 Ashgabat Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games that start in mid-September in Ashgabat. Right now, when the tournament is about to start, the main city of Turkmenistan in round-the-clock mode is preparing for competitions and arrival of thousands of guests from all over the world.

September 17 through 27 Asian Games 2017 - fifth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games - will take place. Ashgabat as a venue for the competition was chosen in Kuwait on December 19, 2010. The city is the first one in Central Asia to host the Asian Games. Tournamnents in 21 kinds of sports were included into the program. Competitions will be held in chess, futsal, tennis, Muaythai (Thai boxing), sambo, Kurash, jujitsu, bowling, track cycling, short course swimming, indoor athletics, weightlifting, basketball, taekwondo (WTF), dancesport, kickboxing, equestrian, belt wrestling, traditional wrestling (Greco-roman and Freestyle), billiards and Turkmen national combat.
