KAZAKH AMBASSADOR TO UKRAINE ZAUTBEK TURISBEKOV MET WITH JOURNALISTS
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Ukraine Zautbek Turisbekov told the press about the events that would take place in Kazakhstan during the year. One of the main and closest events, focused on by H.E. Ambassador, was the upcoming elections.
"In the face of new challenges and threats, Kazakhstan needs to preserve its internal stability, social cohesion and ensure further development of the state. Therefore, on February 14, the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan took the initiative to hold early presidential elections. "
Addressing the nation, members of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan noted that President Nursultan Nazarbayev should be given a new mandate of the national trust for successful development of the country in the period of global trials. Thus, early elections will be a manifestation of the political maturity of the Kazakh society and its commitment to democratic values.
Zautbek Turisbekov also noted that currently Ukraine is home to about four thousand Kazakhs who will be able to vote for their candidate by visiting the voting station which will be located in the Embassy on elections day, that is April 26, starting at 8.00.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in his speech devoted much attention to important events to be held in Kazakhstan in the next few years.
Astana will host the Fifth Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions devoted to the topic of Religion and the sustainable development of the world. For the economic development of Kazakhstan, broad prospects will be opened by the international specialized exhibition "EXPO-2017" which will be the first exhibition of this scale in the post-Soviet space. The headline of the event is Energy of the Future. Expo-2017 expects the participation of more than 100 countries and international organizations, and almost 2-3 million of visitors.
"Among other things, the current year is rich in commemorative events for Kazakhstan", said Zautbek Turisbekov.
The year of 2015 marks the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate which became the source of the statehood of the Kazakh people. It will be the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan which allowed building a modern and democratic society. The same age is the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan initiated by the President Nursultan Nazarbayev. Today, the Assembly is a unique platform of the highest level to address the issues of inter-ethnic relations.
In important issue that H.E. Ambassador raised at the conference was the bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
Now Kazakhstan and Ukraine have sufficiently strong bilateral relations, and the most important thing in this cooperation is mutually beneficial partnership. Although previously goods turnover was about 5.5 billion, but it has dropped significantly - it is necessary to restore these numbers and continue to cooperate. A delegation from the North-Kazakhstan region came to Ukraine today and went to Poltava to gain experience in agriculture. In its turn, due to the decrease in the number of jobs, specialists in various fields went under the employment contracts from Ukraine to Kazakhstan. Thus, Ukrainians got jobs and the Kazakhs the opportunity to borrow knowledge. The cooperation of Kazakhstan and Ukraine in the coal and oil industry is also in progress.
