The embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine arranged the reception in honor of National Holiday
The event started from the rendition of national hymns of Azerbaijan and Ukraine and complimentary speech of temporary charge d’affaires of Azerbaijan in Ukraine Nazim Aliyev. The diplomat congratulated all the guests with the national holiday, he told about the history of education of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic as well as its historical significance for the nation. Mr Aliyev also told about the events of 90s of the last century when Azerbaijan got on the path of its independence restoration. He noticed that Heydar Aliyev, the leader of Azerbaijan nation, played a significant role in formation and development of national identity. In a short span of time the politician maintained the sustainability inside the country, mustered nation around the national idea of all the citizens of Azerbaijan union. Nazim Aliyev underscored that today the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev successfully continues his activity.
In the recent ten years Azerbaijan reached a great progress in the area of economical improvements and corruption opposition, the temporary charge d’affaires emphasized in his speech.
Touching the topic of relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine that have a long history, he turned to the modern realities of mutual friendly links. Today in Ukraine there are several hundred thousands of people from Azerbaijan, and nearly seven thousand of their students acquire education in higher educational establishments of Ukraine, the diplomat told. Democratic and tolerant atmosphere of Ukrainian society and benevolent politics of state towards national and cultural minors supported comfort and protection to their citizens. ‘Ukrainian community in Azerbaijan also plays active social and political role in life of our country and has national support’, Nazim Aliyev mentioned.
The head of State Fiscal Service of Ukraine Roman Nasirov in the speech on behalf of Ukrainian authorities congratulated Azerbaijan citizens with the Day of Republic. He made emphasis on the fact that it was pleasant to note that Ukrainian and Azerbaijan collaboration is based on the principles of mutual respect, friendship, and partnership. He said, in this glorious day he wanted to wish to the friendly Azerbaijan success, benevolence, peace and well-being.
After the official part the guests of welcome reception were able to enjoy live music, the performances of Azerbaijan and Ukrainian singers charged by the national artist of Ukraine Gurban Abbasov, dancers, as well as a plenty of traditional Azerbaijan dishes and delicacies.
The event gathered the high-ranking representatives of all the branches of government of Ukraine, employees of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, defense establishment of friendly nation, representatives of the diplomatic service embedded in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv Association of attaché, the management and activists of our expat community organizations, the membersof scientific, educational, and business circle, the cultural elite of Ukraine, the students of Kyiv educational establishments coming from Azerbaijan, as well as journalists from Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Ukraine.
